How to Use the robots.txt Generator
A robots.txt file tells search engine crawlers which pages and files they can or cannot request from your site. It lives at the root of your domain (e.g., https://example.com/robots.txt).
Important: robots.txt is a directive, not a security mechanism. Sensitive content should be protected with authentication, not just disallow rules. Search engines generally respect robots.txt, but malicious bots may ignore it.
Always include a Sitemap: directive pointing to your XML sitemap. This helps search engines discover all your indexable pages, especially new or deeply nested ones.
Avoid blocking CSS and JavaScript files from Googlebot. Google needs to render your pages to index them properly. Blocking these resources can hurt your search rankings.
